UK Trip Part II: Auchentoshan Distillery Tour

Our first stop once we left Glasgow was the Auchentoshan whisky distillery.  It was a Saturday so the distillery was not in production.  We were the only ones on the first tour of the day so it was our own private tour with a tasting at the end. The grounds are very nice.  I loved seeing the stills (three since it is a triple distilled whisky) and going to one of the warehouses where the whisky is stored (no photos allowed).  We left with the first of a handful of bottles we were to buy on our trip, Auchentoshan Classic.  They also produce a cream liqueur (way better than Bailey’s) I would have loved to have bought but it was just too big of a bottle to transport when I knew we would end up with a lot to take home in the end.
