Recent purchases…a common theme!

There appears to be a theme running throughout my most recent purchases.  Can you guess what it is???

Mexico!  If you follow me on Instagram then this is no surprise...

More Miss L Fire!  Got these on sale from Miss Bamboo.

The following is the seller's photo (source). After receiving the skirt
I realized it was a tad shorter than I wanted but there was plenty of extra fabric to let the hem down so it looks a bit different now.

Wish I could say I did the embroidery on this.
Found for $1 at a friend's garage sale!

Some IG outfit posts showing how I wore some of my new goodies...

Sporting my sombrero necklace and Tijuana souvenir scarf...

I just knew I had to pair my sombrero brooch with my
Vivien of Holloway gypsy top and Freddies of Pinewood Rivet Jeans!

Now if only they sold tooled leather wedges big enough to fit my size 10 feet on Olvera Street in Los Angeles I would be set! Last time I was there the woman at the stall said they were going to try to get them in larger sizes. I know I am not the only girl with feet that size!  Perhaps I'll have to go back on our trip down south later this month!

  1. You have such a lovely collection! I love the necklace and the TJ scarf. There's a place on eBay that sells the tooled leather wedges but they run about $90 shipped. Next trip to Cali I'm hoping to get myself some nice shoes.

    1. Thank you, Mariela! And thanks for the eBay tip! Though the ones I found on Olvera Street were about $45, they only went up to size 9 1/2. I tried to squeeze my feet in them for the heck of it but no luck. You should definitely treat yourself to some nice shoes on your next trip!

  2. Oh! I am DYING! All of this is amazing!!! I have a necklace similar to that one! But mine features little Bakelite bobbles in between the sombreros.

    1. I was definitely most excited about those as well! Now if I could just find another of the brooches in a lighter wood to match my necklace I'd be set! One can never have too many sombrero accessories :)

  5. Damn girl, what an amazing collection! I know I said in IG I had the same necklace, but nope, now that I see it closer, I realize we aren't twinsies after all. Yours is *way* better - it has a rainbow chain?! Get out. So cool!

    1. Thanks, Sara! I’d love to see your necklace! You have so many great ones I’ve seen on your IG ;) I was pretty happy about the unique chain when I got mine. It is some sort of cord in multi colors. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed it never gets snagged on anything. There is no way I could replicate that braiding!

  7. Each of these marvelous pieces is, it should be stated for the records, slaying me with their South of the Border awesomeness. I just got my first ever vintage Mexican tourist jacket last year and can't wait until it's warm enough to sport (without needing another, much more Canadian winter approved coat over top of it, that is) this spring, summer and early fall.

    1. Thanks so much lady! Looking forward to following yours as well! We had a great time in Canterbury on our way back to London from the Rhythm Riot. My husband even bought a shirt at the Lady Luck bar :) I hope we go back there again some day, too! Such a beautiful area.
